Good Vibrations Make For Good Sleep

Oftentimes, the best ideas for how to help babies sleep better come directly from Pediasleep customers. This idea was emailed to us from Mary in Florida, who uses the Running Water sound with her baby “every naptime and during the night!”

It is not uncommon for parents to find that their babies startle awake frequently during naps or the night. One reason for this is that babies – especially young ones – are inherently “twitchy” and wiggle and move around a lot when sleeping. One solution for this is swaddling or using a wearable blanket , which we discussed in earlier baby sleep tips. Another solution to this problem is using the calming sensation of vibrations.

Mary from Florida writes:

« During the first few months, our daughter startled awake within only 20 or 30 minutes of sleeping. To help her sleep longer, we took the vibrating box from her bouncy seat (many other toys also have retractable vibrating boxes as well) and laid it in her cradle. The combination of constant noise and vibration helped to extend her sleep. We used this trick for several weeks until she got better at sleeping deeply by herself. »

Great idea, Mary! I’m sure that this idea will help many parents help their babies sleep better.
