Not only are baby slings great because they free your hands to do things other than carry your baby, they are proven to help babies sleep better at night in addition to having all kinds of other benefits. Research has shown that babies who are held frequently or carried in a sling during the day tend to sleep more, cry less, grow faster and get sick less than babies who are given “standard” care with minimal holding (Ferber, 2004).
So to help your baby sleep more, cry less, grow faster, and get sick less often, remember to carry your baby in a sling during the day.
