Help Me Choose a Soothing Sound

Previous Sleep Tip Next Sleep TipBaby Sleep Tip #7

Rocking (or Walking) Around the Clock

One of the easiest ways to help your baby sleep, is to rock or walk them to sleep. The practice is simple, you simply hold your baby in your arms and rock them in a chair, or walk them around until they are drowsy enough to put them to sleep. Many babies will respond very well to this strategy, and will fall asleep very quickly.

This is such an effective baby sleep strategy because it replicates the motion that your baby felt in the womb. Think about it. Whenever you walked around, they were rocked and bounced as well. This motion became very soothing and comforting to them in utero, and it is still comforting to them now.
